Morton County Treasurer


 

The office of the County Treasurer was created by the N.D. Constitution.  Treasurers take office in May and are elected to four year terms on a non-partisan ballot during November elections. 

 

The main duties of the Morton County Treasurer's Office are the collection of Real Estate and Mobile Home taxes. The office is responsible for keeping track of all property tax, including preparing and mailing out tax statements and delinquent notices.

The Treasurer's Office receives and records revenue from all sources, including all of the county departments as well as State and Federal payments.


Another important duty of the Treasurer is to invest county funds to receive the best rate of return within NDCC requirements.

Staff also provides information to lending agencies for Escrow accounts.
