Public Notice: 2025 Morton County Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan Draft Available for Review
The draft of the 2025 Morton County Multi-Jurisdictional Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available for public review on the Morton County and City of Mandan websites. A printed copy is also available for review in the Emergency Manager’s Office at the Morton County Courthouse in Mandan.
A public hearing to accept comments on the draft plan will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. (CST) in the Commissioner’s Room at the Morton County Courthouse. The hearing will include a review of the draft plan, results from the mitigation survey, and any public comments received. The hearing will close at 7:30 p.m., followed by a brief Steering Committee meeting.
During the meeting, the Steering Committee will review public feedback and participation from local jurisdictions before approving the draft plan for submission to the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services (NDDES) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Once approved pending adoption, each participating jurisdiction must pass an adoption resolution before FEMA issues an official approval letter.
