Community Feature: Young Scout observes local government in action

Last night, the Morton County Commission had a special guest.

Caleb Hayward, age 10, of Mandan, joined the meeting as part of his Scouting activities with Scouts BSA Troop 425. Caleb led the Pledge of Allegiance and stayed for the full meeting to see firsthand how local government works.

Opportunities like this help build an early understanding of civic engagement and the role local government plays in our communities. We appreciate Caleb taking the time to be involved and learn more about the decision-making process.
