CodeRED Data Breach & Hyper-Reach Registration

CodeRED Data Breach & Hyper-Reach Registration

Morton County residents are advised that the CodeRED emergency alert system was affected by a global cyberattack. Some subscriber information, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, and mailing addresses, may have been compromised. No sensitive financial information or social security numbers were stored in the system.

The county has fully transitioned to Hyper-Reach, our new emergency alert system, to ensure residents continue receiving important safety notifications. A partial registration database from CodeRED has been uploaded into Hyper-Reach. If your information was included, you will receive a message confirming your registration and instructions to review or update your details. Residents who do not receive a message should sign up manually. Signing up twice will not result in duplicate alerts.

What you should do:

  1. Sign up for Hyper-Reach: www.mortonnd.gov/hyperreach
  2. Make sure Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEAs) are enabled on your mobile phone
  3. Update any passwords previously used for CodeRED if they were used elsewhere

Emergency Management staff are available to assist residents with registration or updating contact information. Staying signed up ensures you receive alerts when it matters most.
