Morton County 911 Addressing

Accurate Addressing Supports Emergency Response

Accurate 911 addressing allows emergency responders to find homes, businesses, and structures quickly and efficiently. Morton County assigns and maintains official addresses to support emergency dispatch, mapping systems, utilities, and public safety operations.

If you are building, developing property, or experiencing address issues, this page explains how the process works and who to contact.

Address Authority

All 911 addresses in Morton County are assigned and maintained by the Morton County 911 Program Coordinator. This ensures consistency across emergency dispatch systems, mapping platforms, and county records.

Address Assignment Process

In most cases, new 911 address requests are initiated by city or county staff after receiving appropriate property documentation, permits, or access approvals.

Property owners should first contact the appropriate city or county department. They may be referred to the 911 Program Coordinator if additional coordination or clarification is required.

A Morton County approach permit is not required within incorporated city limits.

Unincorporated Morton County

If the property is located outside all city limits, but within Morton County limits, an approved approach permit is required before a 911 address can be assigned.
