Vision Zero
Morton County is committed to making every roadway journey safer. In partnership with North Dakota’s Vision Zero strategy — a bold statewide effort to eliminate motor vehicle crash fatalities and serious injuries on our roads — we’re working toward a future where zero is the only acceptable number. Vision Zero is about changing the culture of traffic safety in North Dakota by promoting proven strategies like buckling up, driving sober and distraction-free, and respecting speed and roadway laws to protect every driver, passenger and pedestrian on our streets and highways.
We are also proud to host the Southwest Region Vision Zero Outreach Coordinator, Theresa Thom, right here in Morton County. Theresa serves 16 southwest counties, connecting communities with education, local outreach and resources that help turn Vision Zero goals into real-world safety outcomes for families and travelers across the region.
